BMW, for example, teased us with the all carbon fibre HP4 Competition at EICMA 2016. It's still in the prototype period, however, and pricing hasn't been placed.Meanwhile, Aprilia has truly gone and presented the Manufacturing plant Works program to buy racebikes based on the RSV4 direct from the manufacturing plant that comply with rules for various national and international race organizations worldwide. Plans start with the basic Superstock build at EUR24,600 (around $26,000 USD at current exchange rates) all the way to EUR160,000 (nearly $170,000) for the RSV4 FW-GP, which features more than 250 horsepower at the crank, pneumatic valves, dried out clutch, and an extremely sophisticated gadgets and data acquisition bundle. And while the RSV4 is a production bike, the bicycles and components used for the Manufacturer Works program are designed strictly for racing. Road-legal componentry, along with registration paperwork, aren't included or even offered.To avoid this list from being filled up with models from only a couple of manufacturers, we've decided to limit it to just the most expensive model from the many OEMs represented here.
